Claire has over 25 years practical business experience. Working with international standards and accreditation, managing compliance audits by external bodies and customers and all aspects of process improvement Claire has a wealth of experience in designing and implementing sensible, pragmatic controls.
Claire represents the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) on the BSi Standards Development Committee responsible for the UK input into CEN/TC 432 - standardisation in the field of competency requirements for customs representation services. Claire is also a member of the CILT Customs and International Trade Compliance Forum.
Claire has assisted organisations of all sizes and from a variety of sectors and industries to attain their strategic compliance goals whether driven by internal objectives, customer requirements or legislative demands.
Her work has included business reviews and reporting, the management and implementation of process improvement initiatives, business standards and internal audit along with all aspects of process mapping, design and documentation.
Consultancy and training responsibilities have included all aspects of operational best practice, cross functional strategy and Business Standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO27001, ISO28001, SAS70, SSAE 16, ISAE 3402, CMMi, ITIL and regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA and AEO.
Claire has worked across a broad spectrum of industries, having worked with, amongst others, Dow Jones Telerate/Markets, Reuters, Marsh (MMC), PWC, BT, The Corporation of London at the Barbican, BBC, the Foreign Office, DTI (BIS), OB10 and Asprey the British Luxury Brand.
Claire believes that reviewing processes helps businesses ‘keep it simple’, avoiding duplication and process proliferation thereby promoting both time and cost efficiency. In keeping with this background Claire has been successfully designing and delivering training courses for over 20 years. Claire firmly believes that success in compliance does not stop with a successful audit result; continuous improvement and monitoring ensures that companies reap the benefits for years to come.
Claire is a firm advocate of continual personal development too and as such was one of the first people to take and pass the CILT Accredited Certificate of Customs Competency.
