Incoterms®2020 come into force on 1st January 2020. This essential half day course focuses on the differences between Incoterms®2020 and Incoterms®2010 so that delegates can understand the practical implications of the differences and where possible how to exploit the differences to their advantage. It is also vital for Brexit preparation.
Incoterms®2020 should be an essential element in any international contract for the movement of goods. They clarify the apportionment of responsibility, cost and risk throughout the transit of the goods. They also clarify responsibility for customs documentation, intrastats, customs processes and import duty and VAT type taxes. This is especially relevant for today’s complex supply-chain structure, mixed modes of transport and procurement and sales trends.
The course is designed for anyone who needs to understand the use and implications of Incoterms®2020 in the global movement of goods, including their role in customs compliance, insurance and cost control.
Incoterms® are created and published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). They are revised every ten years in order to keep them up to date with changes to international law, supply-chain structure, modes of transport, procurement and sales trends. They are available in multiple languages and are legally binding.
Incoterms®2010 can still be used after 1st January 2020 but it is essential that all international goods quotes, purchase, sales and supply-chain contracts specify which set of Incoterms are intended to be used to avoid confusion and error.
The course is equally suitable for those engaged in large and small businesses.
